Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans tomato sauce (15 oz each)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions


Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a pot; add onion and garlic and cook until soft.
  2. Add tomato sauce, broth, and tomato paste; stir well.
  3. Add cocoa, chili powder, cinnamon, allspice, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer 45–60 minutes uncovered, stirring occasionally.
  5. Cook spaghetti until al dente; drain.
  6. Serve spaghetti topped with chili, cheddar cheese, and green onions.
