Instructions

  2. In a bowl mix sugar and cornstarch then stir into the juice.
  3. Whisk continuously until the mixture thickens about 5–8 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in butter lemon juice and vanilla.
  5. Pour into greased molds or ramekins and cool to room temperature.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  7. Unmold and garnish with whole chokecherries or serve plain.

  • Mix with apple juice to reduce tartness if desired.
  • Use arrowroot or gelatin as a substitute thickener.
